Producing the FreshStart AOP — Mobile Applications

To date, Prompt Care, Inc. has designed and built five generations of equipment capable of delivering the FreshStart by Prompt Care® AOP service. Each succeeding generation has been more powerful and lower in cost per unit of measured output. Perhaps even more important, the current patent-pending generation of equipment is smaller, appreciably lighter and easily employed by a single technician. It has been designed to comply with all OSHA and EPA requirements, minimize potential worker injury and contingent liability from workers’ compensation claims, while significantly reducing the setup and take-down time during each treatment.

As seen in the photo above, the equipment is housed in polypropylene/polyethylene-based plastic cases similar to those found in some scuff-resistant briefcases. They have been designed to be easily handled by one person, and each weighs less than 15 pounds — below the lift weight defined by the California Workers’ Compensation Board when determining a “heavy weight” object.

While they look and feel similar, there are two distinctly different types of cases, based on what they produce, and these two cases are always deployed together. The first case puts out a controlled amount of gaseous-state hydrogen peroxide, while the second case emits a controlled amount of gaseous-state ozone. When the ozone makes contact with the hydrogen peroxide, the hydrogen peroxide is broken down and the result of this reaction is the creation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) including hydroxyl radicals, peroxides and superoxide anions. As stated in The Technology, the resultant mix of these species is the powerful oxidizing agent which does the bulk of the work in eliminating the harmful effects of viruses, bacteria, mold, VOCs and allergens. In addition, air continuously passes through the ultraviolet zone of the ozone reactor, which also breaks down harmful agents by destroying the DNA of the numerous microorganisms within the area being treated with the FreshStart AOP.
